Most recently, I succumbed to the Moroccanoil hype and tried out their Moisture Repair Shampoo (unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this shampoo!). It retails for £15.85 for a 250ml bottle on feelunique.com & lookfantastic.com (a lot more than I am usually willing to pay for any shampoo, let alone one I didn't even get on with!). Needless to say this shampoo worked great at first, and it smelt great too, but after a few washes I found that my hair got greasy much quicker than my usual 2 days. I also started getting such awful dandruff after using it - not attractive in the slightest!!! So, understandably I started looking around for a shampoo to conquer this dreaded white stuff invading my hair! (This was also around the time I decided to try more natural products!)
I came across the brand Giovanni and their Eco Chic Haircare range whilst shopping at skinnutrition.co.uk (if you haven't heard of this shop before, go check them out!). They currently have a 20% off offer on Giovanni Cosmetics so I decided to order two products: Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat Shampoo and Giovanni Smooth as Silk Conditioner (reviewed here). Both products are 250ml and retail around £7.99 but I paid £6.39 with the 20% off - a very reasonable price, which is the first of many great things I have to say about these products :)
First up, the Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat Invigorating Shampoo.
I must say I absolutely love this shampoo! The are several reasons why I like it so much. Primarily I loved it for its principles: no parabens, no lauryl/laureth sulfate, 100% vegetarian, no animal testing. When I used it for the first time I liked it even more because of the smell - think peppermint softmints! Amazing :) Really refreshing too!
To add to all of this, it lathers up nicely and leaves your hair feeling pleasantly clean, and I've even found that I can go an extra day between washes which is a brilliant bonus! But the best thing about it for me is that it has dramatically reduced my dandruff to barely noticeable after just a couple of weeks of using it. On the company's website it states that this shampoo "alleviates dry, flaking scalp with organic tea tree botanicals" - it most certainly does live up to this expectation. I would highly recommend this shampoo to anyone who has any flaking scalp issues, and anyone who loves a minty refreshing smell!
