NOTD: Beauty Without Cruelty (BWC) Mermaid

Today I went for a Beauty Without Cruelty (BWC) nail polish in the shade Mermaid. I really love this colour which can look more green or blue depending on the light. This retails for £7.99 but I picked it up on sale for £4.99 at naturisimo.com - they don't seem to sell it anymore but there's several other websites that do!

BWC nail polishes are toluene, phthalate & formaldehyde free, and they have some lovely intensely coloured shades. They're also cruelty free as I'm sure you can gather from their brand name! I find this nail polish to be a little on the runny side which makes it quite difficult to apply neatly. It also dries quickly so you really have to be speedy when painting your nails with this polish to avoid it looking uneven. In the pictures I've applied 2 coats because my first coat looked a bit patchy, but you could get away with one coat if you can paint quickly enough to avoid the unevenness!

Ingredients:
Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl, Glycol/Trimeliltic Anhydride Copolymer, Isopropyl Alcohol,Trimethyl Pentadiol Disobutyrate,Tripheryl Phosphate, Butyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Hectorite

Have you used any BWC products?
Do you own a similar nail polish colour?

  2. Great color for spring/summer. I've never used this brand, but the color reminds me of Blu-ming by color club a little.

    1. I know what you mean. It was such a runny consistency I wasn't expecting it to dry quickly at all so I took my time and literally half of it had dried whilst I was still painting the other side of my nail! Perfect for if you're in a rush though :) x
