Sample Stash #11

A few of the samples I've been trying from my stash lately are products from previous LoveLula beauty boxes. I've been slowly making my way through and for the past couple of weeks I've been using up REN's Neroli & Grapefruit Body Wash/Body Cream. If you've been reading my blog for a while you'll probably know all about my love for citrus scents, so it may not come as a surprise that this little duo makes my nose very happy! They both have the same fruity citrus scent which I find really uplifting to use. They're perfect for that fresh feeling in the mornings! As much as I like the scent, I don't think I will be purchasing full sizes as there are comparable products available from other brands for quite a bit cheaper!

I've also been testing out the biOrganics haircare samples from January's LoveLula box. I was looking forward to trying these as I've seen some really positive reviews but I wasn't too impressed to be honest! The Perfect Balance Rebalancing Shampoo was ok to use, my hair just didn't seem to like it much though. Also I wasn't a fan of the scent - I usually like lavender and chamomile but this particular blend wasn't too great for me!

Unfortunately I really didn't get along with the Salon Secret Elixir Hair Perfecting Oil either. It did do a good job of reducing frizz, but every time I used it (even the tiniest amount) my hair was left smelling kind of like plastic. I'm much happier to stick with pure argan oil for softening and smoothing out my hair!

Have you tried any of these products before? What did you think?

  1. I love to take samples with me when I travel and it's such a great way to get a feel for a product or a brand before you commit to the full size :o) Xx

  2. I love citrus scents so I'l definitely be trying the Ren Body Cream as a treat, I'm not one for shower gels but the cream sounds great. On a daily basis I use avocado oil as a body moisturiser but sometimes its nice to treat yourself ;)

  3. I haven't tried anything by either brands before, but I'm definitely interested in giving products by REN a try. I've had my eyes on several REN products such as their face masks and I really hope to try some of their products soon. I'll definitely have to add the body wash to my wishlist.

  4. I loved the ren and the shampoo works nicely for my hair. I find the oil too heavy for my hair though x

  5. That's a shame they didn't really work for you, I suppose that's a great thing about samples though, you can try them before buying the full size and wasting money! I'm looking forward to trying the conscious skincare samples from this months Souk Souk box!

  6. I love the REN Grapefruit scent, but agree that it's very similar to other products that are a bit more purse friendly! x
