Zoya PixieDust in Lux
It isn't every day you'll find me sporting a textured nail polish, but for New Year's Eve I couldn't resist testing out the insanely pretty Zoya PixieDust in Lux which I received last month from one of my lovely blogging friends Amber (Amber's Beauty Talk). I've tried the standard PixieDust formula before, but this shade takes the texture up a notch further with larger glitter and holographic particles.
Lux is a cool-toned shade described as a rose quartz sparkle with "mega hex iridescent particles". I used three medium coats to get even coverage as it appears less saturated on the nails than it looks in the bottle with all of the highly reflective glitter. Each coat dries super quick, leaving that signature PixieDust textured finish. With the winter light here in the UK it was pretty difficult to capture on camera, so apologies for the slightly gloomy photos! Below is a close-up to show the glitter texture:
The PixieDust polishes might not be for everyone as they do feel very strange on the nails, but I love to have a couple in my stash reserved for occasions - you just have to be careful what clothes you wear since the raised glitter particles can snag on some materials! As with any glitter-based nail polish, you need to soak the nail for a couple of minutes for removal, but it's worth it on those special occasions for how unique it looks on the nails!
What do you think of textured nail polish? Have you tried Zoya before?
