Pai Middlemist Seven Gentle Cream Cleanser Review

skincare · February 15, 2021 · Updated on February 28th, 2021

Review of Pai Middlemist Seven Camellia & Rose Gentle Cleanser - a gentle organic and natural cream cleanser for soft, hydrated and balanced skin

Pai Skincare is one of the first brands that springs to mind when thinking of gentle, natural and organic skincare for sensitive skin. Not only are they a huge hit within the green beauty community, they’re a well known brand amongst “mainstream” beauty lovers too. Pai are easily one of my favourites and I’ve lost count of the number of repurchases over the years!

Pai Skincare focuses on effective, organic ingredients and their products are formulated and manufactured in London, UK. Their organic products are accredited with The Soil Association so you can be sure their products are truly natural and made with the best quality ingredients. Pai products are also certified under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme and independently accredited by The Vegan Society too.

In 2020, Pai products were transformed with a whole new look and I couldn’t wait to refresh my skincare stash with their rebranded packaging! The new packaging is more sustainable, with excess packaging like leaflets removed and recycled materials used in over 80% of the tubes. They’re also starting to use bioplastic from sugarcane. The boxes can all be recycled with household paper, and packaging chips are made from compostable corn starch. Any product parts that can’t be recycled at home, such as pumps, can be returned to Pai for their specialist recycling scheme.

Review of Pai Middlemist Seven Camellia & Rose Gentle Cleanser - a gentle organic and natural cream cleanser for soft, hydrated and balanced skin

Pai Middlemist Seven Camellia & Rose Gentle Cream Cleanser

Middlemist Seven (previously called Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser) was the first cream cleanser I ever tried! I love a good oil or balm, but this cream cleanser is one couldn’t imagine being missing from my skincare cabinet! Once you try this product, it’s easy to see why it’s a cult favourite in the beauty world!

This cleanser is one of those products I genuinely look forward to using! It manages to remove dirt and impurities effectively, even though it’s so gentle. It leaves my skin feeling softened, hydrated and balanced. I’m always so impressed with how well it manages to remove makeup and I can easily use it over my eyes too with no irritation. The scent is quite subtle with floral rose notes and I love that it’s not at all overpowering.

This is actually one of Pai’s products that needs to be returned to them for recycling due to the pump dispenser. The pump gives exactly the right amount of product and it has an automatic seal that opens and closes when you press down on the pump – thumbs up for being hygienic!

Review of Pai Twin Flyer Cloth - an organic, dual-effect sensitive skin cloth for cleansing and removing makeup

Twin Flyer Organic Dual-Effect Sensitive Skin Cloth

To use this cleanser, you simply massage on to dry skin and remove with Pai’s Twin Flyer dual-effect sensitive skin cloth which comes with every order. This is such a welcome upgrade from the standard muslin cloth which was sometimes a little too abrasive for daily use. It’s made from 100% organic cotton which is woven into these genius double-sided muslin cloths.

One side of the cloth is Pai’s classic exfoliating muslin texture. The other side is a more gentle, soft flannel which is ideal for removing the cleanser and using around the eyes. I’m so glad Pai have created these cloths – they’re the best of both worlds with the two textures and zero waste as you can keep washing and reusing again and again!

Pai Skincare’s Middlemist Seven Gentle Cream Cleanser is priced to reflect the high quality ingredients at £34 for 150ml. I really do think it’s worth it the investment and I’ve repurchased too many times to remember! I think this gentle cleanser would work well for all skin types, and I would especially recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin.

If you fancy trying out Pai Skincare for yourself, you can find their products direct from Pai’s website, or at some of my favourite online retailers like Content Beauty and Lookfantastic.

Have you tried this cleanser or any other Pai Skincare products before?

Dry shampoo is a life-saver on those days where your hair is starting to look a little greasy, but you don’t have the time for washing it. Let’s be honest, I’m going to have even less time for that dreaded hair-wash day come January with a newborn 🙈
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve tried a fair few naturally formulated dry shampoos over the years and @captainblankenship Mermaid Dry Shampoo is one of the best! I really love the uplifting scent of rose geranium and palmarosa that lingers throughout the day too.

It’s the loveliest luxurious and relaxing product to use as it smells amazing and leaves the skin super soft too 😊️
