Recent Empties #6

Conveniently timed for the end of the month, I've managed to finish off a few products over the past week or so. I'm always strangely pleased when I finally have some empties as I'm gradually working towards downsizing my stash again, although there are a couple of things I've finished this time around that will be repurchased!

Tea Tree Oil is great for it's antibacterial properties and is one of those bathroom cabinet essentials so it will definitely be replaced. I'll also be repurchasing Deep Steep's Body Mist which is perfect for spritzing whenever you're feeling in need of a little fragrance without the headache that comes with conventional perfumes! I love the sweet and fruity Passion Fruit-Guava scent, especially for summer holidays, but I think I'll change things up a bit for springtime and go for Honeydew-Spearmint next.

I've finished off another travel sized tube of my favourite balm cleanser Balance Me Cleanse & Smooth Face Balm (reviewed here). I always keep a backup of this and I'll be keeping it unopened for a while as I'm trying to use up a couple of other balms first. I also have some more travel sized empties - John Masters Organics Lavender Rosemary Shampoo and Citrus & Neroli Detangler that I reviewed last week here. I didn't get on with the detangler as it's too lightweight for my hair type, although I do like the shampoo and will consider using it again in the future when I next need to stock up.

I was sad to see the end of my bottle of Botanicals Radiance Serum* (reviewed here) as my skin really likes this, plus who can say no to a bit of radiance boost?! It has a calming effect for me and gives the perfect amount of hydration too. Again, it's one I'd consider in the future, maybe when the lackluster skin kicks back in again next winter!

The Citrus Mint Shower Gel from Organic Surge was my first try from the brand. I'd happily use one of their shower gels again, just not this particular scent. On paper it sounds like a scent that I would love, but I wasn't too keen for some reason. It gets extra points for being budget friendly though so I'm sure I'll get around to trying all the other scents at some point!

Last up there's the Priti NYC Soy Nail Polish Remover (reviewed here). This is a much better option than your conventional acetone nail polish removers as it's biodegradable and doesn't dry out your nails, yet it's still effective at removing nail polish. If you're in the US I'd recommend checking it out, or if you're in the UK/Europe I love Fresh Therapies Natural Nail Polish Remover (reviewed here) and actually prefer it for the price and overall performance!

Have you tried any of these products or brands before?

  1. I'd love to try the Balance Me Cleanse & Smooth Face Balm and the Botanicals Radiance Serum. How do you think they would work form my acneic skin?

    1. Hmm I wouldn't be able to say from personal experience as I have a more normal skin type myself, but both brands say those particular products are suitable for most skin types! They both help to balance the skin and contain soothing ingredients like chamomile too which might be helpful for the inflammation :)

  5. Where do you get your John Masters travel size products from? Need to get some travel sizes or samples from them as I would really like to try this brand.
I am currently using pure skin face wash from Balance me and I love the way it makes my skin feel. I will have to try some of other products they have on offer.
